zebras unite

as we were driving to a diner the other day, I came across a strange sign.
I'm talking, very, very, strange.
it was a
"humped zebra crossing" sign.
I have NO CLUE what it means.
kinda wierd, huh?
anyone know what it means?

It's a very crude term used for animals mating.

I can't think of any reason that sign would be there except as a joke, or a memorial of zebras there that were breeding. But the British are very literal, and their signs are not complicated at all.
In fact it could be a racist joke against the Americans, because Americans aren't as literal as the British are.

Just a thought.

The Wilkinsons explained this to us the other night. It is a pedestrian crossing. It is humped because it is a raised part of the road. It is a zebra because it is black and white. So now we know.
